Job Title:            Business Development Manager (UK and Ireland)

Location:            Warrington

Salary:                 £50,000- £60,000 per annum + Car allowance

Hours:                 Monday- Friday 08:30- 17:00

Contract:            Permanent

 

 Our client specialises in manufacturing metal products for a wide variety of industries and for an extensive range of applications. They fabricate products in a wide variety of materials from perforated aluminium sheets to stainless steel woven mesh and rubber mats.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the Business Development Manager will drive new business growth across the UK by identifying target markets, developing new customer relationships and building a strong sales pipeline. 

 

As a Business Development Manager (UK and Ireland) your duties will be: -

 

• Identify and develop new markets, sectors, customers and commercial opportunities.
  
  
• Generate leads through direct outreach, networking, referrals, exhibitions, visits and industry events.
  
  
• Build relationships with OEMs, sub-contractors, consultants, architects, contractors and distributors.
  
  
• Qualify opportunities by understanding customer requirements, project scope, timing and commercial potential.
  
  
• Build and maintain a balanced pipeline of short, medium and long-term opportunities.
  
  
• Develop clear opportunity briefs and ensure relevant commercial, customer and technical information is captured before handover.
  
  
• Work closely with the Technical Pricing Sales Team to ensure smooth handover and maintain commercial momentum.
  
  
• Follow up quoted opportunities and identify further opportunities within existing customer relationships.
  
  
• Maintain accurate CRM/ERP records and support the ongoing development of sales processes.
  
  
• Work with Marketing on targeted lead-generation activity.
  
  
• Provide monthly reports on business development activity, pipeline, KPIs and conversion.
  
  
• Support sales strategy, target setting and identification of priority markets and sectors.
  
  

 

The successful Business Development Manager (UK and Ireland) will have the following skills: - 

 

• Proven experience in Business Development, new business generation or B2B Sales.
  
  
• Experience within engineering, industrial manufacturing, engineered products, construction systems or architectural metalwork.
  
  
• Strong CRM, pipeline management and sales reporting experience.
  
  
• The ability to analyse sales data, KPIs, pipeline and forecasts and communicate findings to senior management.
  
  
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and presentation skills.
  
  
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and develop high-value opportunities.
  
  
• Excellent organisation skills and confidence using Excel, Outlook and general business systems.
