GCSE English Tutor - Warrington

Location: Warrington
Hours: 5-10 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing

Prospero Teaching are recruiting an experienced GCSE English Tutor to support a learner on a 1:1 basis in Warrington.

The successful candidate will be confident delivering English tuition at GCSE level and able to adapt sessions to strengthen both subject knowledge and learner confidence.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver structured 1:1 GCSE English tuition
Support learners with reading, writing and exam preparation
Identify areas for development and tailor sessions accordingly
Use engaging resources to maintain learner participation
Develop confidence and independent learning skills
Track progress throughout the placement

Requirements
Strong subject knowledge in GCSE English
Previous tutoring or teaching experience
Experience working with secondary-aged learners
Ability to adapt teaching to individual learning needs
Excellent communication skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Right to Work in the UK
Two professional child-related references
