Salary/Package - £30,000 - £40,000 + Package

Our client is an established residential construction contractor with a long-standing history within the UK construction sector. The business delivers a wide range of residential developments across the UK, including build-to-rent, multi-family, affordable housing, specialist living and high-density residential schemes.

The business has a strong forward pipeline, with projects ranging from traditional residential developments through to complex, large-scale high-rise schemes. With a focus on quality, commercial performance and delivering projects on programme, this is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to develop their career within a successful commercial team.

Our client is looking to appoint a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Warrington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently graduated Quantity Surveyor or someone at the early stages of their commercial career to gain hands-on experience across major residential construction projects.

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team, you will receive support and development while gaining exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of construction projects.

• Supporting Quantity Surveyors with the commercial management of construction projects

• Assisting with the preparation and review of subcontractor packages

• Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

• Assisting with tender analysis and comparison of quotations

• Preparing and maintaining cost reports

• Assisting with valuations and applications for payment

• Monitoring project costs against budgets

• Supporting the management of variations and compensation events

• Assisting with subcontractor accounts and payments

• Supporting the preparation of final accounts

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation

• Assisting with cost forecasting and reporting

• Maintaining accurate commercial records

• Working closely with site teams, planners, procurement and project management

• Attending project and commercial meetings where required

• Developing an understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures

• Supporting senior members of the commercial team across multiple projects

The successful Graduate Quantity Surveyor will ideally have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

• Ideally some previous construction industry experience through a placement, internship or graduate scheme

• A genuine interest in developing a career within Quantity Surveying

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Good attention to detail

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A willingness to learn and develop

• Ability to work effectively as part of a commercial team

• Good IT and Microsoft Office skills

• An understanding of construction processes and commercial principles

• A proactive and commercially minded approach

• Full UK driving licence would be advantageous

• £30,000 - £40,000 salary
