School Finance Assistant

Runcorn

Hours: this position is 16 hours per week, Flexible on days/times but must cover 10.50am to 1.35pm

This position is to cover maternity leave

To start on 2nd November 2026 and to run through to June 2027 (approx.)

Main Purpose

To provide an efficient and effective financial support service to the school ensuring the smooth running of the Finance Office. To liaise with all departments within the school on financial matters. To ensure that the school complies with statutory financial regulations.

Accountabilities

• Provide an efficient and effective office support function for the academy and trust as required. Taking independent and pro-active action where appropriate to resolve administrative matters. 
• Provide administrative support including word processing, filing, arranging photocopying and collating of resources 
• To update and maintain the data collection systems and run reports as required
• To provide support as required to coordinate the cover information system on a daily basis including the liaison with staff to relation to daily cover matters.
• To support the operations manager in maintaining school records such as the school's single central record, attendance database, SIMS records etc. 
• To provide administrative support to the academy SLT and operations manager in relation to recruitment processes and safeguarding matters. 
• to provide cover and support for the school reception, taking clear telephone messages, welcoming visitors and booking them into the system, proving effective customer service to students, their families and/or carers, third party suppliers, team members, and management. 

Requirements 

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide a minimum of two professional references to cover the most recent 24 months of employment.
