Salary/Package - £30,000 - £38,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

Our client is a long-established specialist contractor delivering high-quality roofing, cladding, rainscreen, and building envelope solutions across the UK. With over four decades of industry experience, they provide a complete in-house service covering design, manufacture, installation, and refurbishment, enabling them to deliver bespoke solutions tailored to each client's requirements.

Working across commercial, industrial, education, leisure, and public sector projects, the business has built an excellent reputation for quality workmanship, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service. Continued investment in their people, sustainability initiatives, and innovative construction methods has positioned them as one of the leading specialists within the building envelope sector. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Wigan.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the commercial management of roofing, cladding, and façade projects

• Supporting the preparation of subcontractor enquiries, procurement, and contract administration

• Assisting with applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Producing quantity take-offs and assisting with cost reporting and CVRs

• Monitoring project costs and supporting budget management

• Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle

• Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

• Assisting with identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities

• Maintaining accurate commercial documentation and project records

• Supporting successful project handovers from pre-construction through to completion

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have:

• Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor role within construction

• Experience within roofing, cladding, façades, building envelope, or specialist subcontracting would be highly advantageous

• A Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management qualification (or currently working towards one)

• Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Competitive basic salary of £30,000 - £38,000
